Terms of Service
What you're agreeing to when you use Traction, and what we're agreeing to in return.
Last updated 2026-10-22
Who you're contracting with
Traction is operated by Bytefig LLC, of 5900 Balcones Drive, STE 100, Austin, TX 78731, USA. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Bytefig LLC, and "you" means the person or organisation using the service.
Payments are processed by Sold through Link, LLC (Stripe's merchant of record service, which appears at checkout, on receipts and on your card statement as "Link"), who act as the merchant of record and are the seller for every transaction. Their terms apply to the payment itself; these terms apply to the service.
Accounts and access
Accounts are currently issued by invitation. You are responsible for keeping your password and any invitation links private, and for everything done by anyone you invite to your team.
A team has one owner, who controls billing, connector credentials, and who else has access. Members act within the owner's data: work created by a member belongs to the team, not to them personally, and removing someone doesn't remove their work.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not share one account between people who could each have their own.
Your data and your credentials
You keep ownership of everything you put into Traction — your app metadata, screenshots, keyword lists and drafts. We store and process it to provide the service and for nothing else.
Some features need credentials for services you already use, such as App Store Connect, the Google Play Console or Apple Search Ads. Those are encrypted at rest and are used only to make the calls you ask for. By adding them you confirm you're authorised to grant that access on behalf of whoever owns the account.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use one customer's data to produce output for another.
What the service does, and what it doesn't promise
Traction analyses App Store and Google Play data and generates suggestions — metadata, keywords, screenshots, icons, ad plans and social copy. Much of that output is produced by AI and is advisory.
An in-app assistant answers questions about the service and your apps, and can open a page, fill in connector settings or add an app for you. It only saves settings or adds an app after you press the button to confirm. Its answers are AI-generated and can be wrong — check anything that matters on the page itself.
We do not guarantee any ranking, download, conversion or revenue outcome. Store rankings are determined by Apple and Google, on criteria we don't control and aren't told.
Where the service can publish on your behalf — pushing metadata or screenshots to App Store Connect or the Google Play Console, changing an ad budget, posting to social accounts, or replying to a review — it does so only when someone with permission asks it to. You are responsible for reviewing anything before it goes live under your name.
Some data is gathered from public store sources — Apple's public App Store data, and Google Play search and listing data we buy from a data provider. We take care that it's accurate but can't warrant it, and those sources may change or be withdrawn at any time.
Acceptable use
Don't use Traction to manipulate store rankings or reviews. Specifically: no incentivised, fake or purchased reviews and ratings; no keyword stuffing intended to mislead; no impersonating another developer or app.
Don't attempt to access another customer's data, probe the service for vulnerabilities without asking us first, or resell access without a written agreement.
Don't use the AI features to generate unlawful, deceptive or infringing content. You're responsible for what you publish.
We may suspend an account that breaches this section. Where it's safe and lawful to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first.
Plans, billing and renewal
Traction is a paid service; there is no free plan. Plans are subscriptions. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. Tax is calculated at checkout based on your location.
The Solo plan, bought as an account's first subscription, starts with a 7-day free trial. The other plans are charged from the day you subscribe. Starting the trial requires a payment method, and it includes everything in the Solo plan. When the trial ends your payment method is charged for the first billing period, automatically, and the subscription then renews as described above. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged. The trial is offered once per account; a plan bought after an earlier subscription, on any plan, starts without one.
You can cancel at any time from the billing screen. Cancelling stops the next renewal — it doesn't end the period you've already paid for, and you keep full access until that period ends.
Plans include limits on apps tracked, team seats, competitors tracked per app, AI usage and Google Play data lookups. The current limits are shown on your billing screen and are enforced by the service.
The in-app assistant doesn't count against your plan's AI allowance. Instead each person can send it a limited number of messages per day (currently 50), resetting at midnight UTC.
An account without an active plan can still sign in, see and export what it already holds, and buy a plan, but can't add apps, generate with AI or fetch new Google Play data. The in-app assistant stays available, within its daily limit.
If a payment fails we'll email you and your account continues unchanged for 7 days. After that it becomes read-only for 30 days — you can still sign in and see everything, but editing, publishing and AI generation pause. If it's still unpaid after that, the account is limited to exporting your data. We do not delete your data because a payment failed.
Suspension, termination and getting your data out
You can stop using Traction at any time. We may end this agreement with reasonable notice, or immediately if you seriously breach the acceptable use section.
You can export your data yourself at any time while the account is open — Profile, *Download my data*. Do that before you close it. If the account has already closed, ask us within 30 days and we'll provide what's left in a machine-readable format; after that it's gone as part of normal retention.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability that can't lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
We're not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost rankings, or indirect or consequential loss.
The service is provided as-is beyond the warranties given here. We aim for continuous availability but don't guarantee it, and we don't currently offer a contractual uptime commitment.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll give reasonable notice by email or in the product before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can cancel.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Texas, United States, and disputes go to the courts of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
